If you want to find apartment rent and vacancy trends for just one or two specific neighborhoods in the Puget Sound region, you don't have to buy our complete Apartment Vacancy Report covering more than 50 neighborhoods in the region.

Instead, you can get online access to create your own custom apartment rent and vacancy reports for just the neighborhood you need information for. As long as you are not looking for information on more than a few neighborhoods, this is a cost-effective alternative to buying the whole report.

Create unlimited custom reports

You can customize your single neighborhood reports to make the rent and vacancy information more meaningful to you.

You can customize your report based on:

• the neighborhood you want trends for
• the specific unit types you are interested in (options are: studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom/1 bath, 2 bedroom/2bath, 3 bedroom/2 bath)
• property age range (for example, create a report specifically for properties built between 1982 and 1987, or 2001 and 2006, or any other combination. If there are enough survey responses, you will get a report.)
• property size range (for example, 20-50 units, or 80-125 units, etc.), and even
• the number of stories in the properties surveyed (for example, zero in on only 2-3 story properties, or 1 story, etc.).

Current rent and vacancy plus trends

The finished report includes the most recent rent and vacancy information from our Apartment Vacancy Report as well as trends for the past ten+ surveys covering the past five+ years.  

Current information is useful, but we believe that the trends over time are more useful in helping investors understand a market area and also helping them to compare their property performance.

The table reports trends for:

• The gross vacancy rate
• The average rent for any unit type selected (options are: studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom/1 bath, 2 bedroom/2bath, 3 bedroom/2 bath)
• The average rent per net rentable square foot
• the number of buildings and units in the survey

Trend graphs

The report also includes three graphs, showing trends for:

• the gross vacancy rate,
• the average rent, and
• rent per net rentable square foot.

Property sizes

the single neighborhood reports are based on our March and September surveys of 20-unit and larger apartments, published in our Apartment Vacancy Report.

Neighborhoods covered

You can get neighborhood reports for any of more than 50 neighborhoods in King, Pierce, Snohomish, Kitsap, and Thurston counties.

How to order a single neighborhood report

First, log in to your account (or create an account if you don't have one yet.) You need an account because you get access to the report online in your personal password-protected my account page.

Next, go to the "Subscribe" tab (see the navigation bar under our logo near the top of the page).

You will see the single neighborhood report in the publications list on the Subscribe page. Select the number of neighborhoods you want reports for. You will be charged the report price shown for each neighborhood.

(Note: For each neighborhood you order, you have the ability to create an unlimited number of reports over the next six months for that neighborhood. That gives you the ability to try a variety of custom settings for property age, size, and stories, as well as run reports for the unit types that matter to you.)

Once you complete the order information and the order has been processed, you will be taken to another page where you select the neighborhood(s) for your reports.

Then just go to your my account page and start generating your own custom reports.
