We're looking for all the positive news we can find, and we found some.
Granted, you have to look closely at the graph to spot the good news. And you have to be pretty open to treating the littlest thing as good news. Anyway, here it is.
The Weekly Apartment Investment Update we published last Friday morning shows sales activity picked up in December.
The Update tracks 5-unit and larger apartment sales in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties. Friday's update included sales as recent as December 30th.
The Update found 18 apartment transactions closed in December. We'll probably add a couple more over the next week or two. That's not a lot of sales activity, but it is the most we've seen since August 2008. That's almost a year and a half ago.
